About the birthday girl

75 years of "Have you eaten yet?"

For three quarters of a century, Myrna has loved her family the truest Filipino way — by feeding it. She raised a family, crossed an ocean, and somehow always had a pot of something warm on the stove "just in case." If you've ever left her house hungry, that's entirely on you, because she offered six times.

Now the whole Esguerra clan is gathering just outside Houston to spoil her for once — and to celebrate her daughter Wendy, who's turning 40 the same day. Two generations, 115 years between them, one very full table. Come for the company, stay for the lechon, and bring the appetite she always knew you had.
